Subject: Indie Bass guitar
Huge thanks to Apex, I live in Hong Kong but originally came from Woodley and on trips back 'home' have visited Apex and enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere in the shop.
Last trip I bought a four string banjo, cheep, cheerful and great fun, but spent most of my time trying the Indie basses which played really well and had great tone. Didn’t get one then, but on return to Hong Kong I visited the website and was tempted again with the 'target' bass.
Anyway long story short and after seeing reviews of the beautiful monochrome Union Jack guitar made by Indie, I asked Apex if a special order bass could be made with the same finish? Yes was the answer and a few months later I'm the proud owner of a superb unique bass guitar that is a real pleasure to play and (I know it should count!!) look at.
As said a big thanks to all at Apex for arranging this for me. |

Subject: Epiphone Les Paul

Subject: Yamaha SG2000
I'm a long time user of both a Fender Strat and Fender Flame (ever seen one?). But, i've wanted an SG2000 ever since seeing Bill Nelson (Be Bop Deluxe) and Santana using them back in the day.
Why an SG2000 over a Les Paul? Well, if you want a good Les Paul you're looking at a Standard or a Custom with a price tag of towards £1500. In my opinion the SG2000 is a better guitar in terms of performance, sound, build and kudos. You don't see many around but anyone who knows their guitars will want to pick it up as soon as they see it.
Having been searching around for months at various outlets, eBay etc, i happened across a beautiful black model on Apex's site. It was advertised as second hand but the previous owner (who had bought from another shop only three months or so prior) went to return it (why?) only to be offered nowhere near it's worth. Alan stepped in, bought the guitar and advertised it at a price i just couldn't resist for what was essentially a brand new guitar.
Alan arranged shipping post haste (well, i was excited wasn't i?) and within a couple of days i had my hands on this beautiful guitar. It's everything i expected, beautifull to hold and play with the coil taps allowing you to switch instantly from creamy to harsh as the situation demands.
Thanks Alan for the excellent service, i'll be coming back. |
